The deadline to enter prize contests has passed. Winners will be announced during the closing session on Saturday.
We will be hosting a contest for the best written essay and the best digital project. The exact amount of the prize will depend on final funding, but we encourage you to submit your work for this opportunity.
Written Essay Guidelines: You may submit a full paper of up to 12 pages. If your paper is longer than 12 pages, you may remove the works cited list to make the page limit, but please do not substantially alter margins or the font size. Shorter papers are welcome. References/works cited may be in any citation style (MLA, APA, or Chicago), as we recognize that media studies extends across many disciplines. Your paper should be emailed to Prof. Kies (bkies@wooster.edu) as a file attachment in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) with your name removed but title intact. Your email should have a subject line “GMSS essay contest.” The deadline for submitting an essay is Friday, March 8, at 11:59pm.
Digital Media Guidelines: Video content should be no longer than 10 minutes. Email your project file or URL to Prof. Kies (bkies@wooster.edu) no later than Friday, March 8, at 11:59pm. Your email should have the subject line “GMSS digital contest.”
One prize in each category will be awarded on Saturday during the symposium. Recipients may be asked to provide certain information for tax purposes.
